My most played games 2014

The year is about to end.
I didn't had the time to play all the games I wanted
But here are my most played games in 2014 anyway.
Which games did you play the most in 2014?

Fantasy Life [Nintendo DS]

I spend too much time in the world of Fantasy Life. Leveling this life then leveling another life oh and let's craft something for one of my houses. If I had to decide this was my favourite casual game in 2014.  Read about my first hour with Fantasy Life here

Starbound [PC]

Starbound is another proof, that good games don't have to have the best graphics. Sometimes a spaceship, kinda cute character customization, countless planets to explore and 8-bit graphics is all you need, to keep one playing for hours. And I played Starbound for about 200 hours. I just love exploring planets and having my own home planet and spaceship. Chucklefish updates Starbound regularly.

Sims 4 [PC]

I'm a huge Sims fangirl, so do I have to say more ;) Read about my first hour with Sims4 here.

Destiny [PS4]

I only have my PS4 and Destiny for a month now, but I played Destiny a lot since then. Destiny became one of my favourite games pretty fast. Stop by at my stream and maybe we can play together.

DIABLO III - Reaper of Souls [PC]

Since me and my boyfriend lost hour first Battle.Net accounts we decided to re-buy Diablo III and the add-on Reaper of Souls. Many things changed since the last time we played Diablo III and we had just one thought "Diablo III got way better". We played everyday for a couple of hours and we were hardly able to stop playing. For a couple of months Diablo III were quiet the only game we were playing.

ArcheAge

ArcheAge I started playing ArcheAge in the beginning of October, around the time I was starting streaming. And I loved it! It was the first time I played a sandbox MMO. You have so many opportunities in this game, you can just be a trader or a pirate, you can fight great wars for one of the two factions and there are some many classes available. A great game with such potential and I really liked streaming it. But I stopped playing ArcheAge, my server died and I had problems finding groups and the queue for the 5v5 arena was just too long. Many players also left the game because of too many server downtimes, too many bots, glitches and some other problems.

Looking forward to No Man's Sky

"No Man's Sky is a procedurally generated open universe game. Players take the role of a planetary explorer with a spacecraft, allowing them to explore the surface of numerous planets and interact with the flora and fauna, and take to space, engaging in combat with hostile forces and travel to other planets. Planets and other features of this universe are procedurally generated; though initially built based on a 32-bit number processor, the final game will use a 64-bit seeding key, with the developers stating that this allows for more than 18 quintillion possible planets. The game will have online features that allow players to share details of planets they have visited with other online players, and will allow players to visit these planets through a large galactic map once they have upgraded their ship for hyperdrive capabilities. In August 2014, the developers announced that the game would be playable offline." [Source

Space, the final frontier, we write the year 2015, this is a never ending mission, to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no man has gone before.
A sentence, that may describes the goal of No Man's Sky the best.

No Man's Sky will be released next year, maybe in June, maybe later. I'm already looking forward to this space survival exploration game.  You will be able to explore 1000s of planets, find secrets and leave hidden messages for other players. An whole open universe can be explored. No campaign just exploring on your own, go wherever you want to go. Maybe this sounds boring for some of you. But for me that's the game I was waiting for. Exploring planets, go on your own space mission. You also will be able to meet other players but that is really unlikely to happen, in this infinite world.
Thinking about it it reminds me a bit of a 3D version of Starbound, where you are able to explore countless planets too. I'm so looking forward to play No Man's Sky and will definitely streaming and/or let's playing it.

Bravely: Default Deluxe Edition Unboxing

What's inside?

Bravely: Default Game
Game Soundtrack
Artbook
AR - Cards
Agnes figurine

I had to buy the Deluxe Edition of Bravely: Default after I heard the news about its sequel Bravely Second. The Agnes figurine is very well painted but her eyes doesn't suit to the rest of the figure, they aren't as well painted as the rest of the figure and look a bit cheap. But the figurine still looks great. The soundtrack is really nice just like the art book.
This was my first unboxing video ever. Trying to do it  bit more "professional" next time and in a better quality.

Weekly Topics

Assassins Creed Buglord, eh Unity - To be honest, I haven't played Assassins Creed Unity but I talked to a couple of people who play it. And they like it, specially the graphics. But they are really annoyed, that they had to pay the full prize for an early access game. So many bugs after release is not acceptable. And a big problem in today's gaming community. More and more games get published full of bugs for the full prize.  In my opinion big publishers like Ubisoft should stop releasing one game after another and start focussing on realising good quality games without 400 bugs, which have to get patched away over weeks.  I really hope for all Assassins Creed Unity players that patch 4 will fix most of the bugs.

That's how I get to my second Topic

The Witcher 3  Wild Hunt has been delayed to the mid of 2015. Bad news at first sight but good news when you hear the reason. CD Project Red doesn't want to release the game with tons of bugs. What a good example for other publishers, right?

Something totally different

Destiny - The Dark Below Expansion has been released this week. Even thought, I only started Destiny last week, I was already looking forward to this expansion. And I really like the new content and hardly can stop playing Destiny. It became one of my favourite games. Unfortunately I wasn't able to beat the newest raid yet. But well by the end of the week I hope to reach light level 30.

Bravely: Second Limited Edition Release in April 2015 in Japan - The sequel of Bravely: Default will be released in April 2015 and I really hope, it will come to Europe as soon as possible. I loved Bravely: Default and Bravely: Second will be as good or better. Due to this news I bought the Bravely: Default Deluxe Edition. Unboxing of the Deluxe Edition here.

What got me into MMOs

A Look into the past. It was in 2006 little, 14 years old,  Jenni was watching a German TV station named GIGA. Esports, gaming news and more gaming related stuff was broadcasted there. I watched a show, where gameplays of one game were shown for an hour, without commentary. I loved watching it. Well, I still love watching gameplays with and without commentary but well, back to the past. One day Guild Wars was on and caught my attention. Didn't realized it was an MMO at first. A few weeks later I bought Guild Wars on a Friday. Why do I remember that it was on a Friday, you may wonder. It's easy, my parents are divorced I spent the weeks at my mom's house and the weekends at my dad's house. My mom didn't had an internet flat rate back then and I only was able to install and update Guild Wars but not to play it, because I was afraid of a high internet bill. So I just waited until my dad fetched me, he already had an internet flat rate. Arrived at my dad's house I went right down to the cellar, where the PC was standing and downloaded and installed Guild Wars. I remember being excited and I couldn't wait for the download to be done. You know the internet speed back then was even worse and installing all those updates took like, I don't know, 2 hours at least.

But then it was finally done. Loggin in for the first time. Creating my first character. A little monk, Jen Personal Tenshi, which I really loved, starting from the beginning until the end. Being a Monk in Guild Wars was a guarantee for a group and wasn't that hard to level, because there were only 20 levels. I played my Monk through the first campaign Prophecies. Got the second campaign, Factions, a few weeks later and played through it. Leveled some other characters to level 20 in 3 hours, but always came back to my Monk. I learned how to farm solo and duo with and completed the next two campaigns, Nightfall and Eye of the North, as soon as they came out. I played Guild Wars for hours and hours. With the time I got into GvG (Guild versus Guild) and other PvP stuff. I even met my first boyfriend in Guild Wars.. Kinda embarrassing, but at least we had the same interests. And he was only living 10 minutes away from me. But now back to the MMOs.

Like every game, even Guild Wars got boring for me after I achieved everything. I started waiting for Guild Wars 2, which was already announced when I stopped playing. Guild Was 2 came out in 2012 and I stopped playing Guild Wars in 2009.

I started checking out some F2P MMOs, like Flyff, Fiesta and Marple Story. I played Perfect World, which had amazing graphics back then, but none of those games could keep me playing as long, as Guild Wars.
I started playing TERA, where I really loved the action combat system and the graphics. At the end of 2013 I started playing Guild Wars 2. But even those two great games weren't able to enthral me like Guild Wars. Don't get me wrong I loved playing Tera and Guild Wars 2 and even the F2P MMOs were fun, but none of them has kept in front of my PC for so long like Guild Wars. I still love playing MMOs and I always watch out for new ones. Currently I have a small addiction to ArcheAge and I'm looking forward to Black Desert Online.

Writing this post I felt a bit the way, I felt when I first logged in to Guild Wars. All those memories and feelings came back to my mind. And I start feeling sad, because I will never have THAT feeling of excitement and curiosity again. Sure I'm always curios about new games MMO or not, but I will never ever feel the way, like I felt back then.

First hour with Pokemon Omega Ruby

Yesterday arrived my Pokemon Omega Ruby Steelbook Edition. And right after my stream ended, I started playing and playing and playing Pokemon Omega Ruby the whole evening. Pokemon was able to catch me again. It's not that different from the older Pokemon games, except the graphics. Like in Pokemon X/Y the new Pokemon has fancy 3D graphics, which make me want to explore the Hoenn region even more.

My first hour with Pokemon Omega Ruby

Everything starts with a strange conversation with Prof. Birch, I don't know I really think the Pokemon professors need some glasses. Not seeing if you are a boy or a girl. This time you can't customize your character. I don't miss the feature but would like to have it anyway, I just really like customizing my own character. Soon after telling Prof. Birch our name we arrive at our new home, where our mother is already waiting for us.

After setting the clock in hour room, mother is sending us to Prof. Birch while looking for him we go to the neighbours house where we meet his son. After meeting him we can go north, where we meet Prof. Birch, who is in trouble. He is beeing attacked by a Pokemon. His bag with the Pokeballs is too far away, so it is our turn to choose a Pokemon and help Prof. Birch.

After the fight we meet Prof. Birch and his son in the Pokemon Lab, where we get a Pokedex and the chosen Pokemon. We make our way north. Leveling our Pokemon and arriving at the first bigger town, Oldale Town, where we get some Potions and a bit later some Pokeballs. Continuing our way we learn how to sneak to Pokemon, who are hiding in the high grass and how to use our PokeNav.

On the way to the second town, we have to battle two trainers. I have to say, that the fight animations look really good, in my opinion even a little bit better than in Pokemon X/Y. Arriving in the second town, Petalburg City, we meet our father who is the gym leader. After a little talk we have to help a guy named Wally getting his first Pokemon. A tutorial on how to catch Pokemon. We don't have much to do in the town, so we can just continue our way. In the Petalburg Woods we already get the Exp.Share, which is pretty handy and really reduces the Pokemon level grinding.

That was already my first hour of Pokemon, I didn't came that far, due to heavy early leveling of my Pokemon.

Things I already really like about the new Pokemon game:
- Graphics - pretty and fancy, make me want to explore the world even more -
- PokeNav - really handy map with hidden Pokemon Radar -
- Sneaking - Sneaking through high grass, reduces to chance of getting attacked -
- Fights - cool fighting animations -
- Exp.Share - very handy -

Things I don't like about the new Pokemon game:
- Nothing

Things I'm looking forward to:
- Gyms - In Pokemon X/Y the gyms were so well designed with little puzzles, can't wait to explore the gyms in Pokemon Omega Ruby
- Flying - Beeing able to manually control where to fly and not just only teleport somewhere when using "fly"
- Secret Base - Getting my own secret base, how couldn't I look forward to it.

I will get back to play Pokemon now and recommend this Pokemon game for every Pokemon fan.

Adventure Time!

Currently I started being addicted to Adventure Time. With a special love for the Lumpy Space Princess. She is just ultra funny. I love this cartoon's houmor and hardly can stop watching it, once I started. Unfortunatly there is only the first season available on Netflix Germany. But well, watched it like 2 times already.

So when I was browsing for some Adventure Time stuff, I came across a really cool Lumpy Space Princess T-Shirt, which hasn't arrived yet, and super lovely and cool Pop!Funko Figures.

I'm in love with these Pop!Funko Adventure Time figures and I'm pretty sure, that sooner or later my room will be full of Pop!Funko figures. The figures are cute (I have a small addiction for cute stuff) and they have quiet every hero you can imagine. It's just cool having a cute Batman figure or IronMan. My Pop! wishlist is pretty long and I guess I won't have enough room in my flat sooner or later for all them. Now I'm already waiting for the next figures to arrive.

MMOs I'm looking forward to

Today I was checking some upcoming MMOs and I found four to look forward to.

Skyforge

Skyforge looks really interesting. "Play as God", In Skyforge you have something like a map where you can choose what you want to do like explore the open world, PvP, dungeons, raids. Beginners can choose between three classes, after playing for a while intermediate and advanced classes will be available with 5 classes in each. It has an action combat system. PvP seems to happen in Arenas and you can choose between different game modes like free for all or capture the flag for example. Really looking forward to play this game and I hope to get accepted to the closed Beta.

Black Desert Online

Back Desert Online will be released in Korea and Russia soon and is (I think) one of the most awaited MMOs 2015 in NA and Europe. The graphics are breathtaking, specially looking at the characters. Dynamic worldwide weather system, with large events such as typhoons and, what impresses me even more, travelling to a different climate zone or seasonal weather changes require to adjust your equipment and put on something warmer/colder etc. For sure there is also day/night cycle. It's a sandbox MMO, so there will be housing, fishing and you're able to play and learn an instrument. It's an open woŕld PvP game like Archeage. What makes the game even better is the action combat system. I love action combat. Best thing is, they are already working on an english client for a couple of month now. Going to watch out for the Beta registration.

Battlecry

"A new team action game, where brutality and beauty collide". The game is by Bethesda and the trailer looks really nice. There isn#t that much to say about it. I just think it looks interesting and I like the steampunk touch it has. It won't be a game that I could play like 24h hours a day but for a quick pvp match from time to time it looks nice. Beta will start 2015.

EverQuest Next

To be honest I haven't played Everquest before and I guess I never will. But I'm really interested in testing EverQuest Next. There are a lot of videos out on the official YouTube Channel and so far I think it could be fun. We will see and maybe I'll be lucky and can play the beta.

Looking forward to Pokemon Omega Ruby

The release of Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire is just around the corner and I'm getting somehow excited about it. I pre-ordered the steelbook edition of Omega Ruby and can't wait for the postman ringing on my door next Friday.

One of the features I'm really excited about is the flying feature, you will be able to fly over the Hoenn region with your Pokemon and not only use "Fly" and get teleported somewhere. That is one thing I was missing in Pokemon X/Y. You will also have a secret base where you can set up decorations and so on. I love housing features in games. I guess, I will spend hours decorating my secret base. Unfortunately you can't customize your trainers appearance like in Pokemon X/Y but that's fine.

And for sure I'm excited about exploring the Hoenn region again after 11 years.

Stream Update!

Lately I wasn't able to stream that regulary, because I have lost somebody, who I really loved. But now I want things to get back to normal again. And want to concentrate more on streaming and blogging. It is still amazing and unbelievable, that people really like to watch me play.

Halloween stream was fun, dindn't reached 200 Followers back then but chatting with my viewers was really nice and my best stream so far. I tried playing Outlast but well... Have a look

I couldn't continue playing Outlast. And switched back to Archeage. And I was really happy with the decision.
My path to level 50 has ended I'm now almost a fully grown Spellsinger on EU Kyprosa. I had to switch to an European server after Archeage's latest patch, because there was a delay of three to four seconds when pressing a skill on NA Lucius. It wasn't playable any more and no fun either. But now I'm happy on Kyprosa.
My 300 Follower giveaway is on. 200 Follower Giveaway was "Borderlands The Pre-Sequel", got like 30 followers the one night. As soon as I reach 300 Followers on Twitch I'm giving away "Assassins Creed Unity".

Twitch Update - Halloween Special

Yesterday I reached 107 followers on Twitch and I'm super happy about it. Specially because I can't stream that regularly right now due to personal reasons. I launched my 100 Follower Giveaway "The Shadow of Mordor" yesterday. CONGRATULATIONS to the winner!

But now to the main topic, the Halloween special stream.

31st October 2014 starting between 7pm and 8pm CET

My first idea was playing a super scary horror game, but I don't want to let my viewers watch me standing in the corner for three hours and not be able to move in-game because I'm just too scared. So I decided to play "The Long Dark", which I will giveaway during the stream aswell. Since it's Halloween, I will dress up a little bit. (A little preview in the picture on the left)
I'd be really happy if you stop by and we can have a fun evening and survive the long dark together.

When I reach 200 Followers during the Stream I will giveaway "The Evil Within".

OnePiece Figures Set by Bandai

I ordered the OnePiece New World Arc Figures Complete Set via Amazon. It was shipped the next day from Japan and arrived about 3 weeks later.
The figures are very well painted and have nice details. They are between 4cm and 13cm high and putting them together was really easy. Every figure was packed in an extra box, so you don't have to puzzle together which platform belongs to which figure. I'm really happy to have the whole crew now.

Streaming on Twitch [Update]

The reason, I haven't written an entry for a couple of days now, is that I was busy streaming and gaining some followers. So far everything works better than I could have imagined. Gained some really nice viewers and followers. Got nice messages, everything is great. Sure, sooner or later there will be messages full of hate. But till now everything is cool.
Everyday I get used to talking English more. And my reading skills improved. I hope that I can gain 100 followers on twitch soon, so that I can launch my 100 Follower Giveaway. I will giveaway "The Shadow of Mordor".

Currently playing ArcheAge on NA Lucius.
Please remember the poll, where you can vote, for the games you want to see in my stream here.

September Favourites

My new Computer

New home, new PC. Finally, now that I live together with my BF, I was able to settle down with my PC. After years of playing on a laptop, I finally have a normal PC again, put together by my BF and upgradeable whenever I want or have the money. My old laptop was great, but I love my new PC even more. It's a lot faster than the old one and having two screens is amazing. Gaming, blogging, streaming everything works perfect with my new Baby.

Fantasy Life [3DS]

Since its release I can barely keep my hands away from my 3DS. This game is so much fun and you always find something new to do. I haven't finished the main story yet, but so far the story is really cute and makes me smile a lot from time to time. Fantasy Life is my new favourite game.

Guardians of the Galaxy [Movie+Comic]

As I wrote here. I just love the Guardians of the Galaxy movie, that's why I bought the comics as well. This morning the Guardians of the Galaxy - Cosmic Avengers TPB arrived. I almost finished reading it and I can say, the comic is great. This is the first comic I bought, besides digital issues, and I will buy more. Looking foward to Guardians of the Galaxy - Angela to arrive.

Chopper Ice Tray

I have a star ice tray, but when I saw this cute thing, I really had the urge to buy it. Even thought autumn is around the corner I needed to have this OnePiece Chopper ice tray.

First hour with Fantasy Life [3DS]

Today was the release of Fantasy Life by Level-5, the developer of the Professor Layton series and Ni no Kuni. I really was waiting for the release of Fantasy Life since I saw it in the Nintendo eShop. After the first trailer, the graphics and the game concept really got me. So, when I was finally able to download it, this morning, I got a bit excited. As you can read in my Looking forward to.. post I had pretty big expectations and still was a bit worried, that they may not be satisfied. After the download was finished I also bought the DLC for 7,99€.

Like in many RPGs you start creating your character and choose his "life". There are 12 life classes available. I decided to start with a Paladin. I would describe the character creation menu as a cuter version of the Mii-Maker. You have many option to personalize your character. And later in game you can change the Hairstyle at Miss Florinas cottage on the West Grassy Plains.

Now, that Jenhyu, the Paladin, was finished the game begins. BOOM! Jenhyu falls out of her bed and wakes up the hard way. Now we get to know Pam. After a bit of talking, we have to check the mailbox outside of our little room. A letter from the King. we are invited to the castle, but only with our life licence. So we are heading to the guild office. where we get the licence. Later this is the place, where you change you life or can go on bounties and start multiplayer games with up to 3 party members.

While we are talking with the Guild Master, there are loud noises outside the office. Two criminals want to catch a talking butterfly. Brave as we are, we are helping the little butterfly, who is also heading to the castle. Arriving in the castle, a little problem comes up. We don't look fancy enough to get into the throne room and see the king. The guard tells us, that we need a bow tie or something similar. On our way back out we are now meeting the talking butterfly again. Who has problems getting in the castle. So the butterfly, whos name is Flutters has a great idea, he will be our bow tie. Now we can enter the throne room and meet the king. The king wishes us all the best. Flutter decides to stay with us, the beginning of a new friendship.

After the meeting with the King, we are now going to the Paladin Master. Every life class has its own master, where you learn the basic skills. Master Mustang sends us and a party member (I forgot her name) to Isobel, where we learn how to handle a sword. Afterwards we are going to Porthos, where we learn how to handle a shield.

Ready to fight, well at least ready to smash [A] we are now investigating. Someone is stealing all the apples from the trees. Our first quest is going on. Running around asking, some guards, if they saw something suspicious, we are finding the thieves really fast. Our first battle begins and is over in a minute or less. Sure it is easy. Bringing back the stolen apples to the merchant and heading back afterwards to the Paladin master.

Flutters wants to see our room now. Going back to our room, where Pam is already waiting for us. She was a bit worried, that might something happened to us. She gives us a chair, as a present for our room and tells us to stop by, if we want to buy a bigger room. After Pam is gone, Flutters tells us to check our "Bliss". With every "Bliss" level you can unlock new perks. like a bigger bag or having pets. We go to sleep and the basic tutorial and the first hour with Fantasy Life is over.

I played a bit into the next day to check the questing system and shops. There are challenges for every life class, where you get stars. "Flutter's Requests", where you get Bliss and "Other Requests", where you get Dosh, the money in Fantasy Life. There are many shops in the town area, where you can spend your Dosh for clothes, potions, cooking ingredients and more.

Conclusion

After playing Fantasy Life for an hour and a bit, I have to say, that I'm in love with the game since Paladin Jenhyu fell out of her bed and the first dialogue began. The characters have great personalities. Flutters reminds me a bit of Drippy from Ni no Kuni. The graphics are great and the world is so friendly and lively. For now it seems like you will have a lot of stuff to do and to discover. I didn't know, that you can decorate your room in Fantasy Life and was really surprised and happy, when I found out. The game just started and I hardly can keep my fingers away from my 3DS. I just want to discover the world, do quest, go on bounties and decorate my room now. And maybe buy some new clothes for my character. I think this game is a good mix between RPG and social simulation. Every fan of Ni no Kuni, cute RPGs, Animal Crossing or similar games should considers buying it.

Unfortunately, I can't say anything about the DLC and if it is worth buying it. Because the content is only available after you finished the main story.

Nendoroid Petit Lucky Star X Street Fighter

Lucky Star is my favourite anime. It's super funny and I really can connect to Konata and Miyuki. I'm kinda  a mix of both of them somehow, even thought they are pretty different. Now, that I have enough space for figures Lucky Star figures were are must buy, These figures were my first purchase, but Franky arrived earlier.

I didn't want to have the normal Lucky Star characters in their normal school uniforms, so I stumbled over this cool Lucky Star X Street Fighter Set with

Kagami as Ken
Tsukasa as Ryu
Konata as Guile
Miyuki as Crimson Viper

The figures are Nendoroid Petit by Good Smile Company. They are painted very well and the colours are very bright. The figures look like they jumped out of the anime right onto my shelf. Really cool is, that you can change the figures outfit. The only thing negative, putting the figures together on their stands was a bit hard. But well, maybe I'm just too weak, my BF didn't had any problems with it at all.

Playing Super Smash Bros [DEMO] 3DS

First thing I have to say is, that I never played Super Smash Bros, but when I heard about Super Smash Bros coming out for 3DS I was kinda excited about it. When I saw it, in a video, it always looked like fun to play. Super Smash Bros will be released 2nd October 2014 for 3DS and will be available in the Nintendo e-Shop 3rd October 2014. The Demo is already available.

I almost forgot about the SSB demo, but today I finally downloaded it. I played the demo for about an hour and I had so much fun. Even thought, I didn't win at least one match.Well, I just suck in fighting games. The demo has five playable characters, I tried every character at least once. The characters have really cool skills and the skills and fighting style is unique from character to character and remind you of the game, where the character comes from.
Playing SSB for the first time, I must say, it's hard to keep track of your own character and the other characters. Right after the first second in the match, I just started smashing all buttons and had no idea about what I'm doing and what I have to do. But I had fun anyway.

Playing against real people must be even more fun, that's why I'm not sure, if I will buy SSB next week or if I will wait until the new NDS comes out. Because my BF is getting my old 3DS then and we can play against each other. Well, sooner or later I will get this game for sure.

Franky

Two weeks ago I moved to my first own flat. And I love it, not just because of my newly gained independence also because, I finally have enough space for all the anime, action, movie figures I don’t have yet, but which I will buy soon. My old room just wasn’t big enough and I didn’t want my lovely figures to stand in a dark little corner.
Last week the first figure arrived. OnePiece Super Styling Movie Z Franky. Franky isn’t my favourite OnePiece character but in the movie he just looks too cool, that I had to order this figure. The figure is painted very well. Now that Franky is standing there all alone I can’t wait for the other characters to arrive. I ordered a whole set with all characters and now I'm waiting for the next package from Japan.

Mario Party - Then and Now

As mentioned in my August Favourites Post, I'm comparing my new Mario Island Party experience with my 1998 Mario Party experience. Unfortunately I haven't found my old Nintendo64 yet. Well, I thought, it will appear out of nowhere while moving. Maybe I should have looked through the old boxes a bit more. Christmas 1998, I got my Nintendo64 from my grandparents. With it I got Mario Party. I played this game quiet everyday with my mom or grandmother. It was really fun. Mostly because we were always losing against the NPCs. I used to play Peach, my mom Yoshi and my Grandmother Donkey Kong. I love to remember these afternoons playing Mario Party. Now it's more like, that I have nothing better to do and play it alone on my 3DS to kill some time. But I still play Peach, this didn't changed.

I love Mario Party, the new and the old one, because of its mini games and the range you get when you roll a number and land on a field where you get teleported to the beginning or something like that. Even now, it's still pretty hard for me to win a game, not the mini games, but winning the whole game. It is not impossible for me, but in 8 out of 10 games a NPC finishes first. Maybe it's just bad luck. Comparing both games I have to say, that I liked the old mini games and maps a bit more. In the new Mario Party Island Tour the Maps are varied and offer different gamestyles. In one map you don't have a dice, you have cards, with numbers, instead. It's a nice idea and you don't have to roll and roll and roll the dice on every map to finish it, every map is a little different.

I like the old Mario Party more, maybe it's just becuse of the memories I have with this one or it's the easiness many old games have. You didn't had games where you had to move the controller to the direction where you want to go, or different play styles on each board, no you were just rolling the dice and try to finish first and bash the buttons in the minigames. I like Mario Party Island Tour too and it's fun playing it to kill some time, but in my opinion the old Mario Party was just a tiny little bit better.

First hour with Sims 4

This won’t be a full review. Just a little post about what came into my mind playing the first hour of The Sims 4.

Installing the The Sims 4. Well installing doesn't count to the first hour, but I have to tell you, that I was really happy about the fact, that you don’t put in the Sims 4 disk and a giant download starts. Usually I wouldn't mind that, but, as I mentioned on twitter, I didn't had internet access for 2 weeks.

When I started The Sims 4, I was sitting in front of my laptop with a huge huge smile and big eyes. I’m playing Sims since I am eight years or something and I’m always excited for every new Sims game and add-on. First thing everyone has to do is creating a Sim. I didn’t spent too much time with creating. But I have to say the new creator is awesome. Creating feels more intuitive and it’s amazing what you can do to your Sim. I really like, that it is easier to match hairstyles, make-up and accessories to the outfit category.

I created Lagertha Rodbrock, my first hour Sim. Lifetime wishes are now called aspirations and in my opinion it’s a good idea, that there are more little steps and not just one big goal to complete. After I chose a house for Lagertha I had some money left and bought some furniture. The new building and interior menu is so much clearer. And looking for stuff got so much easier, not only because of the search function, also because of the catalogue view. The furniture, wallpapers and just everything, even clothes have a great colour choice. Really impressive.

The new game layout looks modern and clear, maybe a bit unfamiliar at first, but I got used to it really fast.

Watching Lagertha for a few minutes I got kinda impressed about the new multitasking ability, calling someone and watching TV at the same time. It’s not that big of a deal. But for me it seems more realistic and it's more fun, just letting your Sims do what they want and watch them. Conversations seem to be more fluent and not like there is a huge break between chosen topics. That’s something I really like. The Sims seem to be a bit smarter and the new emotion system is cool. Lagertha had a great conversation and got happy, based on her happiness I was able to choose new interaction. A good new feature. After an hour I had my first friends and even a lover. Smething, that didn't changed getting married within one Sim-Day is still not a problem. But that's just a Sim-thing, which I would really miss, just imaging playing your Sims through 2 or more years just to get them married. Ain't nobody got time for that.

Playing the Sims for the first hour I don’t have anything negative to say about it. Okay I’m a big Sims Fangirl, but I don’t get why so many people say, that the new Sims isn’t as good as Sims 3. In my opinion Sims 4 has many good new features, runs a lot smoother than Sims 3 and the new graphics look good. I know, there are many people mad about the no-toddler-and-pool-thing, but to be honest, everyone who is really into Sims will buy the add-ons anyway and will get toddlers and pools sooner or later. Sims 4 is even better than I excepted and I already know, that I will have much fun playing Sims 4 even without toddlers and pools.

Guardians of the Galaxy

Last week I was finally able to watch Guardians of the Galaxy. I was pretty excited about this movie, but also a bit afraid, that it may be overrated. It isn’t overrated, The Guardians are just hilarious and the characters overall are amazing.
The music instrumental and “The Awesome Mix Vol. 1” is great. I was listening to “Hooked on a Feeling” since I saw the trailer and now I kinda love this song even more. I like this movies humour a lot, and the action scenes were really cool. Guardians of the Galaxy is my new favourite movie and I’m thinking about getting the comics as well. I just can’t get enough from Rocket and Groot.
Now I’m waiting for Pop!Vinyl Groot to be available again, so I can order it together with rocket.

Can't wait for the Guardians to return.

What do you think about this movie?
