August Favourites

Vikings

This month I discovered Vikings and this series became one of my favourites. Vikings is just total bad ass, specially Ragnar Lodbrok. I can't really describe what makes me love this series so much. Maybe it's just the balance between battles, plundering, intrigues, religion/culture and the fact, that ,so far, not every character you like died. I also like, that it is based on historical facts. Currently I'm still watching season 2, but seeing the trailer for season 3 already makes me want more.

Mario Party Island Tour for 3DS

Mario Party Island Tour was released in January but somehow I haven't noticed it till now. When I saw it in the Nintendo eShop I downloaded it immediately. I used to play Super Mario Party many years ago on my Nintendo64. That's why Mario Party Island Tour was a must-buy for me and I don't regret buying it. 80 new minigames, 7 very different boards and the Browser Tower with boss battles. Mario Party has grown a lot since the time I played it on my Nintendo64. I still really like it, but new is not always better.
You can read more about my Mario Party experience, then and now, soon.

TERA - Online

Me and my boyfriend bought TERA right before it became F2P, we used to play it a lot back then. But because of client problems and bugs we stopped playing TERA. This August we gave TERA Online another try and we hardly can stop playing. The graphics and the landscape in TERA are just amazing. Playing TERA feels always more interactive than Guild Wars 2, or any other MMO I know. Because you not only click on a target and auto-attack the shit out of it and cast your skills by pressing 1-9, no you really have to aim your skills, block and dodge. For me, TERA is currently the best MMO.

 PokeMMO

Why didn't I know that there is a Pokemon MMO out there in the world wide web. It's fun playing Pokemon with others, trade your Pokemon and battle real trainers and see them hanging around town. The PokeMMO is based on Pokemon Fire Red, but more Pokemon were added. Everyone, who likes Pokemon, should try PokeMMO.

A look into the past... GameBoy

My first Gameboy

Pink GameBoy Pocket Edition

On a sunny day in August 1998. It was my first day at elementary school, when I got my pink GameBoy Pocket Edition. I was so happy. Back then I already loved getting new electronic stuff. And still it's something special for me to switch on new stuff for the first time.

Somehow I can't remember the first games I played on my new Gameboy. I only know that I played a lot. The game I remember playing on my Gameboy was released one year after I got it, in 1999. Pokemon. My mom bought the Red Edition for me. An I loved it! I played this game so much, but somehow I never finished it.

Unfortunately I don't own this GameBoy anylonger. I think we threw it away when we moved to our new house 10 years ago.

My second Gameboy

Pink Gameboy Color

I think, I got this one for my Birthday, but don't ask me  when exactly. I played even more with this GameBoy. I remember many games I played on this little guy. Lucky Luke - a jump and run - Looney Tunes: Marvin Strikes Back! were my favourites besides Pokemon Silver Edition. I never ever finished any of this games. But I had fun playing them anyway. I had to throw this GameBoy away, couple years ago because the screen was broken.

I really regret that I threw away my old GameBoys because I'd really want to finish these old games now. They were simple and fun.
And it would give back some nice childhood memories. Anyway Nintendo DS games nowadays are fun too. And I think the newest Pokemon game was awesome. But these old guys and the games have still something special for me. That's why I think of getting my third GameBoy soon.

- Well, I bought a "new" GameBoy Advanced before I finished this entry. Thinking about the old GameBoy games, I  just had to buy it. Read about it soon. -

Looking forward to... Fantasy Life

Looking forward to...

Fantasy Life for 3DS

Fantasy Life will be released 26th September 2014, two years after its release in Japan. About two weeks ago I was browsing the Nintendo eShop and Fantasy Life caught my attention. I was watching the trailer and immediately thought, I need to play this game.

It's a RPG with social simulation elements (like Animal Crossing), where you have not only one life, as a hero, no you have different lives between which you can skip all the time. For example you want to make a weapon for your Paladin, switch to the miner to gather the ore you need, then switch to the blacksmith and craft the weapon afterwards switch back to the Paladin and get the weapon. There will be 12 life classes. Fantasy Life was developed by Level-5, the developer of the Professor Layton series and Ni no Kuni.

I like the graphics a lot. I love the cute, colourful world and characters. The gameplay looks like fun, specially with those crafting mini games and the 12 different life classes. I think this game gives a lot of variety and I hope, the world will be big enough for many adventures and many many hours of gaming. I have pretty big expectations, if they were exceeded or not, you will be able to read about here.

First Post! Games, Lifestyle, Nerdy Stuff

Welcome to my blog,

I didn't prepare any great topic for the first entry, just going to use it to introduce me and to tell you what this blog is going to be about.

About me, I'm Jenhyu or Jenni, still pretty young but already an adult. Gaming is one of my biggest hobbies and I'd like to use this blog to share my hobby with others. My favourite superhero is Batman. I like playing MMOs, RPGs, indie games and casual games. I've never been a pro in any game, but as long as I have fun I got this going for me. I enjoy watching my boyfriend play games as well and going through the story with him together. Few years ago I had a fashion blog, so I'm not that new to blogging.

As soon as I moved to my new appartment I will stream regulary on twitch. If you want just stop by at http://www.twitch.tv/jenhyu
You can decide which games you want to see here.

About this blog. I will write about the games I play, about the games I want to play. You will read about "nerdy" stuff just like action figures, movies and the "gamer lifestyle". I will share with you my experience with games and streaming and I'd like to here your opinions as well. I hope you will have fun reading my posts and watching my stream.
